Art Rooted In My Ancestry
“Las Flores Moriran”
Oil and Acrylic on Canvas (40”x30”)
This painting was inspired by the prompt: What do you see for the future? I can’t say for certain what lies ahead—except that, one day, with my passing, the flowers will fade too. Known for offering floral arrangements to loved ones, eventually my quiet gestures will cease. No more blossoms to grace tables, altars, or desks. This piece speaks to the inevitability of endings. The hands reach out, hoping to preserve what’s slipping away, but ultimately, there's no resisting the natural course. All that remains is to let go and meet the end with acceptance.
